This experiment explores the possibilities of expression by going back and forth between what can be done digitally and what can be done manually.

For example, a crumpled piece of paper cannot be created from 3D data and brought into existence without the involvement of someone with advanced digital skills.

However, many people can create it by hand instantly.

The expression that can be created because of hand-made is utilized as CMF, converted into digital data and made into a vase digitally.

The vase is then printed on a 3D printer and finished by hand.

The process is specified as follows:

1. Create a basic vase data and 3D print it 

2. Put CMF on it manually 

3. Convert it to digital data using 3D scanning and process it 

4. 3D print it and finish it by hand

This process is an experiment in expression born from going back and forth between digital and manual work.

この実験では、デジタルだからできる事と手作業だからできる事、それらを行き来しながら表現の可能性を探る実験をしています。

例えば紙をぐしゃっと丸めた形は、とても高度なデジタルスキルを持つ人で無ければ３Dデータを制作し、それをプリントして実際に存在させることはできません。

しかし手作業なら、多くの人が一瞬で作って実際に存在させられます。

手作業だから生み出せる表現をCMFとして活用し、デジタルデータに変換して、デジタル上で花瓶にします。

そして、その花瓶を３Dプリンターで出力し、手作業で仕上げます。プロセスとしては…

1. ベーシックな花瓶のデータを作成して３Dプリント

2. 手作業でCMFを乗せる

3. 3Dスキャンでデジタルデータに変換して加工

4. 3Dプリントして手作業で仕上げる

という流れで、デジタルと手作業を行ったり来たりして生まれる表現の実験です。 

In this way, I create original materials or adapt purchasable ones to attach them to the model so that it becomes  CMF.

このように自身で素材を作ったり、市販の物を転用しながら、CMFとなるよう原型の表面に貼り付けていきます。
