Sharing experimental methods with students and exploring together
I conduct various experiments before my research.
Typically, I don't find it meaningful to share these experiments with students. However, I felt that this particular experiment would be meaningful to share with students.
I usually don't find them meaningful to share because they are experiments conducted out of very personal interest, and I don't think students would find them interesting.
However, I believed this experiment could capture students' interest, so I recruited students to explore it together.
Fortunately, more students were interested in participating than I had anticipated, so I decided to explore the topic with the selected members.
The results that came from the students' flexible sensibilities included many that I would not have been able to achieve alone, making it a highly educational experience.
Additionally, while typical experiments are solitary tasks that require patience, conducting experiments while discussing them with students was lively and joyful.
I share the results with the students.
実験手法を学生に手渡し、共に探究する
自身が研究の前に行う様々な実験。
それらは、通常は学生と共有する意味が無いものばかりだ。しかし、この実験は学生と共有する意味があると思った。
通常は共有する意味が無いと思うのは、とても個人的な興味で行う実験なので学生が興味を持てないだろうと思うからだ。
しかし、この実験は学生も興味を持ってくれると思えたので、共に探究する学生を募った。
ありがたいことに参加希望の学生は想定より多く、選抜したメンバーと共に探究することにした。
学生の柔らかな感性から生まれる結果には、私では辿り着かない結果が多くあり、学びの多い時間だった。
また通常の実験は孤独な作業で忍耐を要するが、学生と話しながら進める実験は賑やかで、とても幸せな時間だった。
