おとなとこどもが一緒に過ごす時間はとても短く、限られていると思う。

そんな家族が一緒に過ごす時間の中に、絵本を読む時間がある。

絵本の時間は、こどもにとって色んなお話を通して 学ぶ時間でもある。

一日の終わりに絵本を読んで聞かせる、こどもとの限られた時間を大切にしているおとなも多い。

暮らしの中に絵本を読むための椅子があることで、こどもとおとなが寄り添いながら、絵本の時間を楽しむことができると思う。

こどもは、まず座面の下にある棚から絵本を選んで、座面の隙間に差し込む。これから読んで欲しい本を、お父さんやお母さんに見せる。

絵本の読み聞かせが始まる前から、今日の一冊を選ぶ楽しさがある。

おとなは、「今日は、どの絵本を選んだのかな？」と楽しみにしながら、絵本を手に取り、こどもと一緒に絵本を読むことができる。

「今日は、この絵本を選んだのー！」

「この絵本好きだね。」

「明日はどんな絵本を読もうかなー？」

そんな会話が聞こえて来そうだ。

読み聞かせを通しておとなとこどもが知識と感情を共有し、自分たちが生きる世界への興味関心が広がる過程が、おとなとこどもが寄り添う時間に繋がると良い。

The time that adults and children spend together is very short and limited.

Many adults cherish the limited time of reading picture books to their children at the end of the day.

By having a chair for reading picture books in their daily lives, children and adults can enjoy time together.

The child first selects a picture book from the shelf under the seat and inserts it into the gap on the seat. The child shows his/her parents the book he/she would like to have read to him/her. 

Even before the picture book reading begins, the child has the pleasure of choosing the book of the day.

"Which picture book did you choose today?" The adults look forward to picking up the picture book and reading it with the child.

"You chose this picture book today!"

"You like this picture book!"

"What picture book shall we read tomorrow?"

You can almost hear such conversations.

It is hoped that the process of adults and children sharing knowledge and feelings through storytelling and expanding their interest in the world in which they live will lead to a time for adults and children to be close to each other.
