Usually a stool for adults. Sometimes it is a place for children.  

Just as adults work at their own chairs and desks, children can do what they want to do at their own chairs and desks.

Whether it is in the living room, hallway, balcony, or laundry room where the whole family spends time, a small desk and chair can create a place for the child.

The child has his or her own place to do what he or she likes.

For a child to have his or her own chair and desk is like becoming an adult.

And the child behaves like an adult and feels a little accepted by the adults.

Seeing such a child, the adults smile as well.

The adults feel like the child behaves like a full-fledged person.

But that's the stool I usually sit on....

Adults can only smile at children while they are children.

By cherishing that time, adults can also nurture a rich heart.

We receive a lot of love and warmth from children's behavior and words.

The tools that adults use in their daily lives create a new place for children.

By sharing tools in this way, we hope that adults can sincerely face both their own time sitting on a stool and the time with their family members who provide a place for their children.

普段は、おとなが使うスツール。 　

時々、こどもの居場所。  

おとなが、自分の椅子と机で仕事をするように、

こどもも、自分の椅子と机でしたいことに向き合える。

たとえ、そこが家族全員が過ごすリビングルームでも、廊下でも、ベランダでも、洗面所でも、

小さな机と椅子がこどもの居場所を確立してくれる。

自分だけの居場所で、自分の好きなことをする。

自分だけの椅子と机があるというのは、おとなになったような気分だ。

そしておとなの様に振舞い、おとなから少し認められたような気分になる。

そんなこどもの姿を見て、おとなも微笑んでしまう。

何だか一人前だなぁと。

でもそれ、普段は私が座っているスツールなんだけどなぁ…と。

そんな姿を微笑ましく見れるのは、こどもがこどもの間だけ。

その時間を大切にすることで、おとなも豊かな心を育める。

たくさんの温かな心を、こどもの振る舞いや言葉からもらう。

おとなが普段使う道具が、こどもの新たな居場所をつくる。

そうやって道具を共有することで、おとなはスツールに座る自分の時間と、

こどもに居場所を提供する家族との時間、両方の時間と真摯に向き合えれば良いなと思う。
